This piece is part of my ongoing watercolor series — quick, expressive studies painted in the small pockets of time I get throughout the day. I’ve always loved the look of the classic barber pole, and painting it in this loose ink-and-wash style gave it a warm, nostalgic feel.
The splashes, the drips, the imperfect lines — that’s the real heartbeat of this series. I painted this one on November 20, 2025, letting the colors bleed naturally and keeping the sketchy ink lines exactly as they came out of my hand.
Most of what I offer here are reprints made from original sketchbook and watercolor studies like this one, with the occasional original piece available from time to time.
